The challenge
This property is the conversion of a group of 17th century derelict farmhouses in South Liverpool.
DK-Architects worked closely with Urban Splash, and local planning and conservation officers, to transform the grade 2 listed buildings into a number of dwellings all located around a central cobbled courtyard.
The design looks to preserve and enhance the original structures, retaining as many features as possible, whilst providing additional accommodation by way of contemporary, timber clad buildings to complement and contrast the existing heavy stone.
Due to the nature of the conversion the client was keen that the security systems would blend in to the design aesthetic and be sympathetic to the renovation.
Approach and impact
It was important that the home was secured with state of the art technology that would provide safety and comfort to residents whilst protecting their most valuable assets.
We installed monitored intruder alarms that can be controlled from the convenience of a mobile app on the move and in addition monitored CCTV for peace of mind when people access the grounds of the property.
